First full day in the Lake District. Unusually sunny and warm. Day spent exploring around Keswick on foot (and boat).

The group sets off.

En route: view over a drystone wall (built without cement) to Blencathra (2847 ft; 868m).

Castlerigg Stone Circle. Constructed somewhat over 5000 years ago, it is one of the oldest stone circles in Europe..

A couple of locals seem unimpressed.

Starting the trek up Walla Crag (1234 ft; 376 m).

May 3 - View from Walla Crag. Keswick right centre; Derwentwater left.

May 3 - Keswick Launch, which does the circuit of the lake, stopping at various landing-stages. The class did the entire circuit before exploring Keswick on foot.
