| UK FIELD STUDY COURSE 2007
- May 6, 2007
May 6 (Free Day) -
Normal weather arrives (“Lake District” is a local term meaning “continuous rain”.) Everyone came to spend time on the northern coast – but blustery winds and driving rain made it miserable. We quickly gave up and went back to visit Carlisle again.
May 6 - The grey beach at Allonby in the rain. Scottish hills across the Solway Firth.

May 6 - Carlisle Castle. Built by Henry I of England in 1122 to try to keep the Scots out (not always successfully.)

May 6 - What happens to badly-behaved students.
